I started blogging on this topic when I tried to quit smoking in mid July of 2010, and at that point I was having quite a bit of difficulty. On the 11th August 2010 however, I successfully managed to quit smoking, and have been smoke free ever since - not bad for someone who used to go through 20 a day!
My initial method was patches (after an unsuccessful stint with lozenges) however I picked up a book called The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, by Allen Carr (no, not Alan Carr!) and I can honestly say that it was the most helpful thing I have ever come across that's not NRT based! So from the 18th of August, not only was I smoke free, I was completely nicotine free too!
This blog is a way to document my mind and body's process of healing from the effects of smoking, but I invite anyone who has quit (either for a long time, or or recently) or who is thinking of quitting to get in touch and discuss this topic (or just congratulate me - I'm not fussy!)
My original blog was http://www.smallthoughts.blog.com/ - however use of the site proved an issue and I decided to continue it here with The Quitter's Quitter.
